We propose to meet with BFAR to discuss the status of current fisheries; the export ban and its effectiveness; knowledge of illegal trade; enforcement and management issues; and what foreign interests are driving illegal trade – both Japanese and Taiwanese companies funded riverine exploration in Luzon for eels prior to the ban.
