a) Saiga monitoring system is in place and being used to provide data for assessment of conservation success.
b) Successful visitor centre at the Centre for Wild Animals of Kalmykia.
c) Continuation of rotating cows project based at Centre for Wild Animals and serving areas to the west of the Chernye Zemli Biosphere Reserve.
d) Public awareness campaign in area north of the Chernye Zemli Biosphere Reserve carried out by Centre for Ecological Projects.
e) Continuation of anti-poaching activities by rangers of the Stepnoi Sanctuary (east of the Chernye Zemli Biosphere Reserve).
f) A comparison of public attitudes and behaviours in the three regions, drawing lessons for future engagement with the public in the Chernye Zemli region.
g) A high level of positive media attention and official support for our work achieved within Kalmykia.
h) Project staff engaged actively with environmental education in local schools and temples, and children enthused by saiga conservation.
i) International links established between educators in the UK and Kalmykia, leading to ongoing support for saiga conservation at the grassroots level in both countries.
