Summary
To improve community livelihoods on, and ecologically restore Floreana Island, invasive mammalian predators will be eradicated in 2023, transforming the lives of Floreana islanders who are largely dependent on farm-based income and tourism. Potential impacts of eradication methods on at-risk native species and livestock will be managed through
captive holding of species. This infrastructure will subsequently aid long-term food security and native species reintroductions. Community livelihoods will be improved by activities in livestock feed production and improved harvest management.
