Summary

We will work in Lake Victoria, Kenya to develop and demonstrate a new model for responsible aquaculture and inland fisheries that conserves native species and produces long-term benefits to people through community-based incentives. The team will work with two Kenyan Beach Management Units, community and conservation health experts and a leading-edge aquaculture company to develop and implement sustainably-financed lake-based community conservation areas. We will engage the fisheries ministries and quaculture sector across Lake Victoria to scale the model.
