To develop a national monitoring system of large mammals that addresses current geographic and taxonomic data gaps, in order to produce a detailed distributional atlas and conservation action plan for large mammals in Tanzania.
Sub-unit of TAWIRI developed to monitor large mammals in data deficient areas using standardised methods.
